Who Convo is for
Convo is built for beginner to intermediate Mandarin learners — whether you are starting from zero, rebuilding after a long break, or working toward confident everyday conversation. If your goal is to understand what people say to you and to answer back, Convo is for you.
How it works
When you first open the app, a short onboarding asks about your Chinese proficiency level, what motivates you to learn, and what topics interest you. Convo uses your answers to shape lesson recommendations and conversation scenarios around your level and goals.
From there you work through structured speaking and listening lessons, practice pronunciation with transcription and feedback, and rehearse real situations with AI conversation partners. You can also use free conversation practice to talk about whatever you like and pick up new words along the way.

Convo offers a 7-day free trial inside the app so you can try the full learning experience before deciding. The trial gives you time to work through lessons, test pronunciation practice, and hold AI conversations.
